2013 ISDS Conference

22 August 2013

The International Society for Disease Surveillance twelfth annual conference will be held December 12-13, 2013 in New Orleans, Louisiana at the Sheraton New Orleans, with Pre-Conference Workshops on Wednesday, December 11th.

The deadline for the submission of abstracts is 9th September.

The theme for this year's conference— Translating Research and Surveillance into Action— highlights one of the salient topics voiced by the biosurveillance community, and will focus on strategies for incorporating the latest in biosurveillance approaches, methodologies, and results into data-driven public health practices, programs, and policies. Both the 2013 ISDS Pre-Conference Workshops and Conference are designed to build capacity for public health surveillance at multiple levels— from the local to global— by addressing a need for information about the most up-to-date practices, tools, and research results. By convening professionals from across the spectrum of biosurveillance, including public health practitioners, academic researchers, healthcare providers, and policymakers, ISDS harnesses the extensive and collective expertise of ISDS members, as well as other stakeholders, to advance surveillance through the integration of research and practice. This unique gathering has resulted in past attendees consistently reporting making positive changes in their work based on what they learned at a pre-conference workshop and the conference.
